Senior Management

Since KfW Capital was established in 2018, Dr Jörg Goschin (CEO) and Alexander Thees have served as joint managing directors of the wholly-owned KfW subsidiary. They both bring many years of experience in different specialist areas to the role, and are responsible for KfW Capital's strategic direction and operational management.

Dr Jörg Goschin

As a principal investor, senior manager, company founder, and advisor to the German government, Jörg currently serves as the CEO of KfW Capital, a subsidiary of the German state-owned KfW Group and a leading European VC fund investor, which he co-founded in 2018. Previous stations of his career include The Blackstone Group, Cerberus Capital and BNP Paribas. Earlier in his career, he held positions at The Boston Consulting Group, and Metzler Bank. Jörg holds a PhD in Finance and a dual degree in Electrical Engineering and Economics.

Alexander Thees

Alexander Thees has held various positions within KfW Group since 1996 and has been serving in management roles since 2002, gaining many years of business policy and operational experience in structured finance and venture capital. Since the foundation of KfW Capital in 2018, he has been a member of its Management Board and has been responsible for the continuous development of the company's business model and product range. Within the Management Board, Alexander oversees risk and portfolio management, finance, as well as various central functions.
