    VC-Fund Investments

The Germany Fund is providing around €2 billion to promote innovative technologies of the future through targeted investments in venture capital funds. In doing so, KfW Capital is supporting young, technology-oriented companies in Germany in the fields of deep tech, artificial intelligence, biotech, climate tech, and defense tech, thereby strengthening the venture capital ecosystem in the long term.

    • Overview of details
      • The Germany Fund integrates the previous KfW Capital modules into a central and flexible building block for investments in venture capital funds.
      • Around two billion euros are available, enabling KfW Capital to acquire stakes of up to 50 million euros in individual VC target funds.
      • The target funds must be based in Europe and be majority-owned by private investors, with no single investor holding a majority stake.
      • The VC target funds invest at least to the same extent as KfW Capital in young, technology-oriented companies based in Germany.
      • KfW Capital pays attention to a sustainable investment concept, independent private management with a relevant track record, and clear investment and exit strategies for the target funds.
