Investment strategy

KfW Capital acts as both an investment intermediary and an investment advisor for the Wachstumsfonds Deutschland. During its five years of existence, KfW Capital has developed into a flagship investor. In recent years, it has invested in over 100 VC funds with a volume of around EUR 2 billion.

The Wachstumsfonds Deutschland invests in German and international VC fonds that have their investment focus in Europe. This significantly improves access to urgently needed growth capital for start-ups and innovative technology companies and strengthens Europe and Germany as a location for innovation.

The phase focus is in the later stage area and the sector focus of the individual target funds is in future-oriented fields such as ICT, life science, green tech or food tech.
