KfW Capital is once again awarding the ‘KfW Capital Fellowship Women in VC’ this year, granting two partial scholarships worth €5,000 each for the venture capital track of the ‘Certified Private Equity Analyst’ (CPEA) training programme offered by the Technical University of Munich and the German Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVK). The programme is designed for investment managers and investment professionals from family offices, as well as representatives of institutional investors. It provides in-depth training to help participants build successful careers in venture capital and private equity.
Through the 'Fellowships Women in VC' programme, KfW Capital is encouraging women in the VC ecosystem to complete the qualification course at the Technical University of Munich, enabling them to pursue meaningful career opportunities in the VC sector. This will promote diversity within the VC market, which is still largely male-dominated.
Awarding of the 2025 Fellowships
The two partial scholarships were officially awarded at the German Private Equity Day 2025 by Ulrike Hinrichs (Spokesperson BVK Board) and Sonja Höpfner (Spokesperson KfW Capital). The scholarship recipients are:
• Helene Alt, Equity Financing Division, NRW.BANK
• Dr Sophie Hippmann, Director of Transfer and Innovation Management at Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.
Statements from the scholarship recipients:
Helene Alt:
“The Certified Private Equity Analyst training programme enables me to deepen my knowledge of investment management in a targeted manner and raise it to a high professional level. The exchange with other young professionals and experts from academia and industry is also very important to me as it provides valuable impulses for my professional development and allows me to expand my professional network. I recommend every woman to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to establish herself professionally in an industry that needs more female voices."
Dr Sophie Hippmann:
“Technological inventions require courageous people as well as a proper financing on the path to innovation. As an engineer, I see the CPEA training programme as the perfect addition to my technological expertise, which is essential for fulfilling successful innovations."
