    Sustainability

Transitioning to a sustainable society is the key challenge of our time. In the coming years and decades, this transformation will require ongpoing and extensive investment, innovation, and continual further developments. This also applies to the global financial system. Entrepreneurial action and social responsibility are inseparable in order to accompany this transformation. As a responsible VC investor and part of KfW Group, KfW Capital is committed to this global task and supports the sustainability objectives of KfW Group and the German Federal Government as well as the 2030 Agenda with its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We apply our sutainability strategy both in the investment process and within the company itself. Details on this can be found in our Sustainabiliy Policy.

KfW Capital is also closely integrated into KfW's Sustainable Finance Strategy and contributes, among other things, to the topics of impact management, Paris alignment and ESG risk management. Current developments, facts and figures on KfW and KfW Capital can be found in the Sustainability Report of the KfW Group.

The regulatory disclosures required under Regulation 2019/2088/EU (SFDR) can be viewed here.

    Sustainability in the Investment Process

It is KfW Capital's aspiration to record the effects emanating from the portfolio companies using suitable indicators and to report these both internally and externally in order to create greater transparency in the market and thereby contribute to sustainable development.

    Development of the VC ecosystem

KfW Capital not only integrates sustainability into its own investment activities, but also aims to help shape developments beyond this. Our activities in this area include regular events such as the KfW Capital VC Academy or the KfW Capital Award, in addition to ESG training that we helped to develop.
